  • The 3rd International Conference on Fisheries and Marine Research (ICoFMR)

    October 5, 2022 – October 6, 2022

There are various environmental growing problems in today’s world. Our ocean is being flooded with two main types of pollution: chemicals and trash. Overexploitation of fishing resources also causes irreversible changes in the marine life. On the other sector, aquaculture has great potential for food security and livelihoods. However, it generates concerning consequences for the environment, including chemical and biological pollution, disease outbreaks, unsustainable feeds and competition for coastal space.

To prevent disastrous consequences of our ocean, it requires comprehensive actions to achieve blue economy. The World Bank defines blue economy as a “sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth, improved livelihoods, and jobs while preserving the health of ocean ecosystem”. It encompasses many activities such as fisheries, renewable energy, sustainable seafood industry, tourism, maritime transport, waste management, and climate change mitigation. By collaborating with experts from around the world, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science would like to explore the potential of management and technology of aquatic resources and by-products for better future.

This online conference is held to create space for current results of scientific work in the field of fisheries and marine research to support blue economic goals. The theme of the 3rd International Conference on Fisheries and Marine Research (ICoFMR 2022) is “Integrated Fisheries Management and Technology to Achieve Blue Economy”.
